Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

A well-named local and very uncommonly encountered species that inhabits the floor of dense terra firme forests in western Amazonia. Striking plumage includes olive-brownish upperparts contrasting with paler, boldy streaked underparts. Distinctive song is an easily-imitated two-note whistle. Does not overlap with the similar Ochre-striped Antpitta that is found north of the Amazon River.
